The Urban Assault Ride™ is a truly unique cycling event...and quickly becoming one of the biggest in country! Here's how it works: You and your teammate will set out on a city-wide quest for 'checkpoints' on your favorite two-wheeled steeds. At each checkpoint, you'll drop your bikes and complete a funky/adventurous obstacle course, then remount your bikes and hit the streets for more.
The goal is to complete all the checkpoints in the shortest amount of time. You choose your own route and checkpoint order. This means that the most clever are often the victors. Of course, it may also help if you can pull a mean big-wheel powerslide and fly across an inflatable slip-n-slide ;)
After your pedal-powered adventure, your team will cross the finish line and enter a massive celebration of bikes and beer. The after party is just as much fun as the ride itself, thanks to the craziest raffle prize contest you'll ever experience.

Austin, TX: June 27th - The UAR returns home for its 8th season
The Urban Assault Ride is an Austin summer cycling institution. What 1st started as a tiny sparkle in a local bike racer's eye has now turned into the biggest competitive cycling event in the Lone Star state. There's a reason why - every year the UAR gets bigger with fresh and funky obstacle courses and a massive celebration of bikes and beer. It's a "can't miss event" that must be on every Austinite's summer calendar. The ATX UAR WILL BE CAPPED at 1500 riders in 2010 - SO REGISTER ASAP!!!
Yes - it's going to be hot, but we've got you covered. many obstacles will cool you down with water, not to mention the waterslides at the after party and cold New Belgium beer! It's the place to be on steamy Sunday morning!
Bring your friends and family to the after party from 10 - 2! We'll have New Belgium beer and great food from The Shed BBQ's Rolling Joint and ZEN. After party include contests, mini bike limbo, mustache contest, and much more!
Just announced: The MOTT's will be playing the after party from 10:30am - 12pm. A great band to make the after party even better!

Mystery Checkpoint Clue: There will be 2 mystery checkpoints' which all teams will have to locate - in addition to the obstacle checkpoints above. Here is the 1st clue. The other mystery checkpoint clues will be revealed when you reach the 1st mystery checkpoint.
Bonus Quiz: Take the OPTIONAL bonus quiz before the UAR to gain valuable time. The best scores on the quiz start 1st. HERE IS THE QUIZ. You'll have from Wednesday until Friday 5pm to complete your team's quiz.

McKinney Falls St Park (the closest) - but not a lot of swimming and the highways can be hears
Pace Bend Park (on Lake Travis, so there's plenty of swimming to be had)
Krause Springs (the furthest, but the prettiest - and with TX's best swimming hole)
