The Urban Assault Ride™ is a truly unique cycling event...and quickly becoming one of the biggest in country! Here's how it works: You and your teammate will set out on a city-wide quest for 'checkpoints' on your favorite two-wheeled steeds.  At each checkpoint, you'll drop your bikes and complete a funky/adventurous obstacle course, then remount your bikes and hit the streets for more.

The goal is to complete all the checkpoints in the shortest amount of time. You choose your own route and checkpoint order. This means that the most clever are often the victors. Of course, it may also help if you can pull a mean big-wheel powerslide and fly across an inflatable slip-n-slide ;)

After your pedal-powered adventure, your team will cross the finish line and enter a massive celebration of bikes and beer. The after party is just as much fun as the ride itself, thanks to the craziest raffle prize contest you'll ever experience.

FORT COLLINS CO: Sunday July 18th Benefiting: Fort Collins Bike Co-op

Why do we put the UAR in Ft Collins? Because of the best title sponsor in the world - NEW BELGIUM BREWING COMPANY! Lots of riders come in from all over the country to experience Beer, Bikes, and Big Wheels in "The Fort". We're pulling out all the stops with obstacles this year - so be prepared for some human bowling, paper boy, and you'll have to wait and see what else! Of course, with the brewery down the street, you know the after party will be rockin! We'll see you there!

Price: Only $45 -60/person! (Price depends on date of registration. Price increases on 7/4 - so get on it!) You'll get a American Apparel t-shirt, New Belgium schwag like a drawstring back pack, lots of New Belgium beer, tasty snacks, non-alcoholic drinks, donation to charities, and raffle ticket entries!


Off-Limit Streets: (These streets can be crossed but not ridden. Bike lanes on these streets are permitted.)

  • College Ave.
  • Old Town Square
  • There is an ordiance about "racing" on Ft Collins bike trails. If you do ride these trails, be VERY cautious of other pedestrians and cyclists also using the trails.

Mystery Checkpoint Clue: There will be 2 'mystery checkpoints' which all teams will have to locate - in addition to the obstacle checkpoints above. Here is the 1st clue:

 

Water-slides, swing-sets, and our striped rider on the loop,..

Even Ft. Collins' "Lady Liberty" and giant frogs taboot,..

So many great sites, whether by bike or by feet,..

"And to think that I saw it on,.."

 

The other mystery checkpoint clues will be revealed when you reach the 1st mystery checkpoint.
