The Urban Assault Ride™ is a truly unique cycling event...and quickly becoming one of the biggest in country! Here's how it works: You and your teammate will set out on a city-wide quest for 'checkpoints' on your favorite two-wheeled steeds.  At each checkpoint, you'll drop your bikes and complete a funky/adventurous obstacle course, then remount your bikes and hit the streets for more.

The goal is to complete all the checkpoints in the shortest amount of time. You choose your own route and checkpoint order. This means that the most clever are often the victors. Of course, it may also help if you can pull a mean big-wheel powerslide and fly across an inflatable slip-n-slide ;)

After your pedal-powered adventure, your team will cross the finish line and enter a massive celebration of bikes and beer. The after party is just as much fun as the ride itself, thanks to the craziest raffle prize contest you'll ever experience.

The 1st Urban Assault Ride in MPLS was the biggest 1st year UAR ever! We've found that riders in MPLS are some of the coolest in the country and really love their beer....so the UAR fits right in. The UAR brings out all types of riders for a midwest celebration of bikes and beer!

Price : Only $30 - 65/person! (Price depends on division and date of registration. Price jumps on 7/25!) You'll get a American Apparel t-shirt, New Belgium schwag like a drawstring back pack, lots of New Belgium beer, free snacks, Peace coffee, donation to charities, and raffle ticket entries!

 

Packet Pick Up: (Saturday 8/7 11-2pm)

NOTE: BOTH teammates MUST check in at Saturday packet pickup together OR sign up for VIP Sunday pick up. THERE IS NO PACKET PICK UP (meaning you get no packet) ON SUNDAY UNLESS YOU SIGN UP FOR VIP PICK UP!!!

Off-Limit Streets: These streets can be crossed but not ridden. Bike lanes on these streets ARE permitted.

  • Lyndale Ave.
  • Hiawatha Ave.
  • Cedar Ave (south of the parkway)
  • I-35, I-94, I-494, I-394 (and any other 4 lane highway of course)

 

Checkpoints: (checkpoints can be reached in any order) Note: This is a long course. If you are not trying to win the UAR and don't think you can complete the entire course within 3 hours, you are welcome to skip a checkpoint and reduce the distance.

 

Mystery Checkpoint Clue: There will be 2 'mystery checkpoints' which all teams will have to locate - in addition to the obstacle checkpoints above. Here is the 1st MYSTERY CHECKPOINT CLUE. The other mystery checkpoint clues will be revealed when you reach the 1st mystery checkpoint. 

 

Bonus Quiz: Take the OPTIONAL bonus quiz before the UAR to gain valuable time. The best scores on the quiz start 1st. Here is the quiz. It is due on Friday by 5pm.
